Artist's Bio

Portraits, animals, landscapes and still life, Dale is a painter of most things. With over forty years devoted to developing her skill, she remains motivated by the pure pleasure of the process: the idea, the creation and the result.

Born and raised in North Carolina, she moved to the Hudson Valley in New York where she received formal art training. For three decades, she sought out prominent private teachers in upstate New York for portraiture, animal and landscape instruction. Her instructors included John Gould, John Hamberger and Susan Goetz Schneider. In addition to private instruction, she studied at the Woodstock School of Art, the Kingston School of Art and the Art Students League of New York.

Currently, she resides near Columbia, South Carolina. While constantly working on paintings, she also teaches group and private classes at the Dale Mastro School of Art.
